About us

'Written with Williams' was founded by me, Sarah, as an easy-to-navigate hub where writers can come together and find useful resources to help foster ideas and become all-round more creative people. Here, you can find one-on-one creative writing lessons, access to editing and proofreading with our editor, Jack, and a writing community.

 

What do we do?

• Help new writers begin their creative writing journey.

• Help novelists complete their books.

• Provide advice in planning and structuring that will make writing feel easier.

• Monthly discussion calls where you can send in writing questions and meet other writers.

• In-person events, largely around York, England, but hopefully in other areas soon!

Company history

This is a company created by a writer, for other writers! Throughout my time writing my debut novel, I've learnt a lot and found many ways to make the whole process easier. I now pass on this knowledge to my students and help them overcome the hurdles that all writers face when we first start.

During lockdown I had to make changes as many people did. My main form of income had been house sitting, since I finished university, and I'd stayed in people's homes whilst they were on holiday and looked after their pets which allowed me to write full-time. When the pandemic came I lost all of my house sitting opportunities and all of my income. At my partner Jack's encouragement I got my TEFL qualification and began teaching English as a Foreign Language and specialising in teaching creative writing.

Since then I have fully developed various creative writing courses for all ages and intentions and have found a passion for helping other writers achieve their goals. Jack has helped immensely in the process of developing courses - he has over four years' teaching and editing experience. We both want to reach more writers, share tips and create a community space where we can all meet more like-minded people!
